USST and Institut Polytechnique de Bordeaux signed an International Cooperation Agreement

In the afternoon of September 30, the signing ceremony of the cooperation agreement between USST and Institut Polytechnique de Bordeaux (INP) was held in Yates Hall. USST President Prof. Ding Xiaodong, Vice President Ms. Cai Yonglian, Director of International Affairs Office Prof. Ma Xiaoting, Vice Dean of School of Energy and Power Engineering Prof. Yang Huainan, INP President Prof. Marc Phalippou and Vice President Prof. Eric Grivel attended the ceremony. The meeting was hosted by Ms. Cai Yonglian.
Prof. Ding Xiaodong firstly delivered a speech on behalf of USST. He said that USST was mainly engaged in engineering education, and as a high-level university under the key construction of Shanghai Municipality, USST aimed at cultivating engineering-oriented, innovative and international high-quality talents with solid foundation and competitive practice, and was committed to continuously improving the quality and level of engineering education. He made an outlook on the follow-up cooperation between the two sides and welcomed the French delegation to visit USST. INP President Phalippou expressed his gratitude to USST President Ding for the invitation,and said that the signing of the cooperation agreement would certainly promote the cooperation in international research and teaching between the two sides, and looked forward to in-depth discussions on student exchange and credit exchange in the future. After that, Ms. Cai Yonglian and Prof. Grenville introduced the brief information and international development features of the two universities respectively. At the end of the meeting, the representatives from both sides took a group photo online.

Established in 2009, Institut Polytechnique de Bordeaux (INP) is a state university consisting of 6 colleges and 3 joint colleges. The university awards degrees in engineering accredited by the Commission des Ingénieurs (the French commission responsible for accrediting engineering schools). It has 21 high-level engineering majors, 11 joint research centers, 3,400 students and 12% international students, with all majors opened to international students (bachelor and undergraduate levels). With a strong focus on multi-party cooperation and external exchanges, the university has 130 global partners, over 400 employees, including 230 faculty members and 180 administrative staff, and over 700 part-time lecturers.
