USST Listed as “The National Center for Technology Transfer and Industrialization (NCTTI)" by the Ministry of Education

February 28, 2019

Recently, the Ministry of Education of the P.R.C announced its decision to approve 47 Centers for Technology Transfer and Industrialization (CTTI) from the universities or colleges as the first batch of NCTTIs. Of these universities, there are 22 prestigious universities which are under the direct jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education of the P.R.C, such as Tsinghua University and 25 other famous universities which are under the direct jurisdiction of other particular municipal or provincial governments. Of all universities under the direct jurisdiction of the Shanghai Municipal Government, only USST is on that list. The fact, that USST is listed as one of the CTTIs after it won the honor as a model CTTI in Shanghai in 2017, indicates that the work done by USST in the field of technology transfer and industrialization has been nationally recognized.

To select and ratify the CTTIs as the NCTTIs is an important measure taken by the Ministry of Education to promote the universities to better serve the national strategy and to cultivate the individualized systems for universities and to transfer and industrialize their scientific and technological innovations. The practice to select and ratify the NCTTIs will improve the management and supporting service for NCTTIs, accumulate experiences and innovate the practices in running NCTTIs.

To have been listed as one of the NCTTIs symbolizes that our dedication and strength regarding  the construction of technology transfer systems, shows the effectiveness of our management and operation, and the unique features of our Center which have been widely recognized. Meanwhile, to have been elected as one of the NCTTIs also demands a higher standard in our future technology transfer practices. As an executive office in charge of technology transfer and industrialization, Technology Transfer Center (TTC) [affiliated with the Technology Office, USST] will commit itself even further to the overall objectives of our campus administration and the perspective of building a high-level university, attaching importance to both the social and economic benefits in technology transfer and industrialization, and building a team of experienced brokers so as to provide better services for the students and the faculty.
