Promote the Labour Spirits by Learning from Role Model

In order to celebrate the "May 1st" International Labor Day, commemorate the 101st anniversary of the "May 4th" Movement, and guide the young teachers and students to learn the model figure and strive for advancement, the seminar "A face-to-face talk between advanced model workers and young people" was held in the meeting room on the first floor of the Advanced Manufacturing Building.
At the exchange meeting, three representatives of model workers, including Academician Zhuang Songlin, Professor Guan Xiao and Professor Peng Yan, respectively talked about their lives by sharing their personal experiences of growth, scientific research and education. They encouraged young teachers not to forget their original aspirations, perseverance, devotion and dedication, but to strive to become good teachers and helpful friends for students, to reinforce teaching and learning; to strive for excellence, pursue excellence, maintain healthy emotions, advance the teaching and scientific research side by side, contributing to the development of the school.
Afterwards, young teachers and students also exchanged puzzlement with their advanced models on personal learning and scientific research, how to realize their own value. Then the guests present answered their questions one by one.
Vice President Cai Yonglian pointed out that the proportion of female teachers and students in our school has reached half, and they have become an irreplaceable part. She sincerely feels proud of the female compatriots. She hopes that they will make persistent efforts to give full play to women's "Rational Beauty, Confident Beauty, and Flexible Beauty", devote themselves to the high-level university construction with more exciting spirits, and become "Smart, stylish, and enterprising" women in the new era.
In the concluding speech, Wu Jianyong, on behalf of the school, showed his lofty respect for a group of dedicated scholars and those who make great contributions in scientific research represented by Academician Zhuang Songlin. He also extends condolences and good wishes to all the selfless staff in the school. Wu pointed out that at present, there is still a great gap between China and the developed countries in the cutting-edge technology field. In the face of the complicated and severe situation at home and abroad, all Ussters must learn from the role model and vigorously promote the spirits of the model workers and craftsmen. The core of the spirit is to stick to one for many years, make ordinary things real and refined; love whatever job one takes up, persevere, strive for excellence, and strive to become a newcomer in the era of “Manufacturing Power” mission.
