More than 100 years of USST have witnessed over 100,000 alumni studying and working in USST campus, many of whom have entered the hall of fame in their respective fields, with their achievements both contributing to the development of the society at large and the honor of their alma mater in particular. As of June 2018, the USST Alumni Association has established 33 secondary alumni associations and 13 branch associations of colleges and schools at home and abroad, basically forming a network of secondary alumni associations across the country. In March 2003, with the approval of Shanghai Management Bureau of Associations and Clubs, the Alumni Association of University of Shanghai officially changed to the Alumni Association of University of Shanghai for Science and Technology (USST Alumni Association). Inheriting the rich history and culture of the Alumni Association of University of Shanghai, making use of the resource of distinguished alumni all across the country and the globe, USST Alumni Association will stick to the spirit of the university motto: “Integrity, Righteousness, Diligence, Love; Pondering, Learning, Aspiration, Ambition”, serve the alumni wholeheartedly, strengthen the contact between various alumni and between alumni and their alma mater, encourage the alumni to promote USST’s fine tradition and make positive contributions in the construction of high-level university and the development of the educational enterprise. The administrative authority of USST Alumni Association is Shanghai Management Bureau of Associations and Clubs, and the competent business unit is Shanghai Education Committee. The Association is subject to the supervision and management of the administrative authority and the competent business unit.
