Institute and Center

The National Centre for Quality Supervision and Test of Optical Instrument is a third-party, non-profit, state-level institution for product quality supervision and inspection accredited by Certification and Accreditation Administration of the People’s Republic of China (CNCA). The Center was originally established in 1990. And in 1993, with the accreditation of the former Ministry of Machinery Industry, it set up the Product Quality Supervision and Inspection Center of Optical Instrument, and No.14 Measurement and Testing Center for the machinery industry. In 2006, the Optical Engineering Testing Technology Laboratory of USST was accredited by China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS).

The center, affiliated to the School of Optical Engineering and Computer Science of USST, is the director unit of China Instrument and Control Society, the Secretariat of Optics and Photonics Standardization Technical Committee, the Secretariat of the Engineering Optics of Chinese Optical Society, the Secretariat of Optical Instruments Federation of China Instrument and Control Society, the Secretariat of the Optical Instruments Federation of China Instrument Manufacturers Association.

With a complete laboratory management system, advanced equipment and strong testing capabilities, the center has been undertaking the supervision / commissioned inspection / arbitration inspection of optical product quality, metrological verification of optical instruments, new product identification, making and revising national and industry standards, research and development of testing technology and equipment. Its business scope covers performance testing and parameter calibration of various optical instruments, testing and evaluation of optical components, and environmental simulation tests of optical components and instruments, providing customers with various testing solutions and technical support services.
