The Key Laboratory for Publication Integration Development focuses on exploring the strategies, tactics and effective paths for integration development of the traditional publication and new media to address the frontier issues emerging from the comprehensive transformation and upgrading of the publishing industry, such as internet-based interactive publication, all-media publication, on-demand printing, and green printing. With the support of such preponderant disciplines as digital publishing, digital printing, e-commerce, and the joint efforts of the well-known publishing institutions in China, it endeavors to cultivate specialized talents for the publishing industry in China, meanwhile to undertake research on industrial development planning and national standards making, write academic papers and consultative reports.

This laboratory can provide the faculty and students of publishing major a true digital printing experimental environment in which they can experience the real-time on-demand publishing process and all-media development process for content products, serving as an experimental site to explore new operation model for publication institutions.
