The Delegation from UW-Stout Visits Our School

On June 21, Bob Meyer, President of University of Wisconsin-Stout together with Scott Pierson, Division Chief of International Affairs Office and Min DeGruson from the School of Mechanical Engineering visited our school. Accompanied by persons in charge of the College of Communication and Art Design and the International Affairs Office of USST, President Ding Xiaodong of USST welcomed the guests.

President Ding gave a brief introduction of the history, discipline characteristics, international exchange projects, cultural experiences and academic research at USST. He noted that USST will strongly support the academic exchanges and the exchange projects for teachers and students in subjects such as art design and packaging engineering between the College of Communication and Art Design at USST and the University of Wisconsin-Stout. Bob Meyer introduced the discipline characteristics and the concepts of the cultivation of students. He expects to carry out a practical collaboration with the College of Communication and Art Design, USST. Both sides signed a memorandum of understanding on intercollegiate collaboration.

Afterwards, Bob Meyer visited the animation lab and the pottery studio, appreciated excellent graduates’ works, and had talks with the head of relevant colleges of USST. Xue Wen, Deputy Dean of College of Communication and Art Design, USST, introduced basic information, disciplines and subjects of the college. President Bob Meyer expressed that the University of Wisconsin corresponds well to College of Communication and Art Design, USST in many disciplines and subjects. They had a profound discussion on the collaborative approaches and scopes in hopes of carrying out more professional collaboration and exchanges based on the collaborative projects regarding printing and packaging.

The University of Wisconsin-Stout is a comprehensive university of science and technology in the Wisconsin University System, and is the first to win the “Baldrige National Quality Award” conferred by the Department of Commerce of the United States of America.
