A Reward and Gathering Party to Celebrate the 35th Teachers’ Day Held at USST

On the afternoon of the 10th of September, the school held a reward and gathering party to celebrate the 35th Teachers’ Day at the Teachers' Activity Center.. Those who attended the meeting were Wu Jianyong, Secretary of the Party Committee of the University,  President Ding Xiaodong, Zhuang Songlin, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Sun Yuedong, Vice Secretary of the Party Committee of the University &President of the Trade Union, and Cai Yonglian, Vice President and Director of the School's Women's Work Committee.

Wu Jianyong unveiled the Shanghai Labor Model Innovation Studio led by academician Zhuang Songlin. Sun Yuedong and Cai Yonglian were awarded prizes by the Student Work Office of the School of Management and the Institute of Control Engineering of Shanghai Educational Pioneer, respectively.
Sun Yuedong read out the list of teachers whom have been teaching for over 30 years Ding Xiaodong awarded honorary certificates to them. Professor Zhu Yiming, Professor Cui Xiaoyu,30 year veteran teacher representatives and Zhao Jiayu, representative of the Shanghai Labor Model Innovation Workshop, made exchanges and speeches respectively. They reviewed their past as teachers, shared their insights on education and teaching, talked freely about the experience of teamwork and the way to climb to the peak of scientific research, and also talked about demonstrating how to be a good teacher and role model.
Secretary Wu Jianyong made a concluding speech. On behalf of the vast number of faculty members and retired faculty members of the school, he extended festive greetings and showed lofty respect, giving warm congratulations to those commended excellent teachers. He said that the school is paying close attention to the construction of high-level universities, and has made gratifying achievements in: personnel training, scientific research, social services, cultural inheritance & innovation, international exchanges and cooperation. On this occasion, he also raised three hopes:
One is to make a high moral value establishment and cultivate people.Teachers need to cultivate people in an era of national rejuvenation, should constantly internalize and externalize the sense of responsibility and the mission of moral cultivation and education.

We should also be innovators in scientific research. At present, directed by the needs of the country and the societal and economic situation, the university is seizing the opportunity of the construction of a high-level university, optimizing the subject layout structure, and vigorously promoting the development of medical and artificial intelligence as well as other subjects. Teachers should grasp the opportunity for school reform and development, pay attention to dislocation research, characteristic research and cross-research. With a spirit of "seeking truth from facts", the wisdom of tenacity will "sharpen a sword in ten years", teachers should contribute to the wisdom and strength of USST to innovate our country and the construction of the Shanghai Science and Technology Creation Center.
Thirdly, we should be pioneers of reform and development. Teachers are the key to solving problems and overcoming obstacles in the development of schools. All teachers should deepen their understanding of reform and try first to take the lead, to be supporters, builders and devotees of a high-level university construction, and also make more, bigger and better achievements in a high-level university construction.
