USST Visits China Construction Eighth Engineering Division

On July 7th, the delegation led by USST president Ding Xiaodong, and Sheng Chun, deputy secretary of Party Committee of USST paid a visit to China Construction Eighth Engineering Division. Xiao Rongchun, secretary of Party Committee and president of China Construction Eighth Engineering Division and Jin Wei, deputy secretary of Party Committee and chairperson of Labor Union of China Construction Eighth Engineering Division gave warm reception to president Ding and his entourage.

During talks, Xiao Rongchun extended a warm welcome to president Ding and his entourage. President Ding Xiaodong congratulated China Construction Eighth Engineering Division on its achievements and gave brief introductions of USST on its history, discipline characteristics, high-level university construction and its work and achievements during the epidemic. President Ding pointed out that as an important university in Shanghai with a long history and distinctive features, USST adheres to the strategy of serving China, and keeps improving talents cultivation. During the epidemic, USST overcame many difficulties, took steps to resume study and research and reduced the impacts exerted by corona-virus on students’ learning and school’s development. He also pointed out that the interdisciplinary education is the future model of education. He hopes that both sides would make efforts in cultivating interdisciplinary talents and extend the scope and depth of cooperation.

President Ding delivered a speech during talks
