USST Introduces New Majors：Energy Storage Science and Engineering & Intelligent Medical Engineering

Recently, two undergraduate majors: energy storage science and engineering, intelligence medicine engineering have won the appproval and registeration from the Ministry of Education.
The major of Energy Storage Science and Engineering meets the demands of the transformation of national energy and the construction of “clean, low-carbon, safe and highly-efficient” energy system. To advance the development of energy storage technology from pilot construction to large-scale industrial application, USST will break through the barrier of the discipline and major, integrate teaching and research resources, improve the weak industrial link, cultivate an array of high-level talents with the capability of production, research & development and management in a bid to speed up the cultivation of highly-academic talents with strong cutting-edged abilities in energy storage domain.
Focused on the national major strategy “Health China 2030”, the major of Intelligent Medicine Engineering is a highly cross-disciplinary subject in medicine, science and engineering. The university explores the cultivation pattern of medical-engineering interdisciplinary talents, builds a platform for the cultivation of medical-engineering compound innovative talents with knowledge-productive, practical and innovative abilities in accordance with the construction needs of the national modernization.
The approval of two new engineering majors will contributes to optimizing major layout, deepening research and practice of emerging engineering education, and improve the ability of high-level applied-oriented talents boosted by new technologies, new industries, new models, and new patterns. In accordance with national standards for teaching quality of undergraduate majors, USST will take full advantage of its current conditions, integrate its running-school resources, bring into full play its disciplinary features, actively carry out major evaluation and accreditation, formulate undergraduate talents cultivation scheme, to ensure the quality of talents cultivation.
