NEW CAREER BEGINS: USST Welcomes Students of Grade 2021

"Welcome Students of Grade 2021 to University of Shanghai for Science and Technology” was hung against the red banner near No.516 Jungong Road Campus. September 4th marks the registration day for incoming students of more than 4000 at USST. Those new USSTers registered, beginning an exciting new chapter of their life with USST.

Volunteers composed of faculty and students, who were wearing USST T-shirts, assembled to welcome newcomers with their warmest greetings. They answered questions, gave advice, guided the way and offered help to new students, making them feel USST as home. “Though tired out, I feel pleased and honored to see and help a lot of new USSTers. With our efforts, they can start their new career full of expectations,” said volunteers from Basic School.

The university also strengthened campus pandemic prevention and control by intelligent means. Before entering school, each newcomer had to upload run-length code, health code and covid-19 nucleic acid testing report, which were then connected to their virtual cards. At the registration day, they were likely to enter the campus only through scanning QR of the welink.

"This is the first time that I came onto USST campus. So friendly were teachers and students around us, having brought us a lot of imagination for the next four years,” said one freshman from Business School.

No matter where you are from, USST will be new home to you and stands together in enriching your academic journey and personal development in the following four years.
