USST Leaders Present at Science and Technology Activity Month of Shanghai Electric Group

On November 22th, Wu Jianyong, Secretary of Party Committee of USST, President Ding Xiaodong, Vice President Liu Ping attended the opening ceremony of 2021 Science and Technology Activity Month of Shanghai Electric Group, and signed the school-enterprise cooperation agreement with Shanghai Electric Group. They found out the effective mechanism of jointly developing high-quality compound talents through the close cooperation in such areas as joint talents cultivation, cutting-edged talents introduction and students employment linkage.

Wu Jianyong addressed a speech. He pointed out that the industrial orientation of Shanghai Electric Group well fit the disciplines of USST. They together serves national and Shanghai strategic needs. In a long term, both sides carried out profound cooperation in talents cultivation, scientific research, college student internship and employment, and scored a series of achievements. He pointed out, the sixth plenary session of nineteenth CPC central committee noted that to advance sci-tech self-reliance and self-strengthening, transform China from manufacturing country to manufacturing power, USST kept strengthening collaborative innovation, joined their hands to make highly-effective, high-quality and industrialized achievements, contributing a lot to upgrading traditional areas, realizing the construction of Shanghai Science and Technology innovation Center, and carbon peaking & carbon neutrality.

On behalf of USST, President Ding signed the agreement with Shanghai Electric Group Company Limited. Both sides agreed to regularly hold the seminar on talents cultivation, create customized training program. They should jointly develop masters, draw strength from each other, focus on academic and pragmatic features, implement “double-supervisor” system, and attract enterprises into campus. The enterprise mentor can guide the career development of students, helping students customize their personal career development plan. In addition, both sides hold regular talents exchange for cadres and teachers, and prioritize the construction of talent team.
