Partnerships: A Visit to SUMHS by President Ding

On March 1st, President Ding Xiaodong, Vice-president Liu Ping paid a visit to Shanghai University of Medicine and Health Sciences (SUMHS). Both sides carried out talks in the construction of emerging medicine and engineering education and a new coordinative development pattern, and then signed the strategic cooperation
During the meeting, Wu Tao extended warm welcome to the delegation led by Ding and gave sincere thanks to long-standing supports from USST. Centering on the moral education, discipline construction, affiliated medical agency construction and international collaboration, Wu introduced SUMHS in detail. Wu noted that both schools share profound historical origin, so they lay solid cooperation foundation and enjoy vast cooperation space, sharing the important mission for national strategy and Shanghai socio-economic development. The signing of the cooperation agreement means that both schools enter a new stage, and can produce more fruits with their joint efforts.  
In president Ding’s speech, USST has maintained natural relationship with SUMHS. Two schools have worked together for long and found better cooperative opportunities. Ding put up some ideas of discipline construction, the construction unit authorized to offer master’s degrees, attraction postdoctoral talents. He hopes that both sides take full advantage of discipline features and strengths, endeavoring to build a pilot school for win-win result and shared development. They can make new strides in cooperation education of emerging engineering and medicine, providing more wisdom and power for Shanghai comprehensive education reform.
Before the meeting, accompanied by Wu, Ding and his entourage visited interactive training and College of Rehabilitation Sciences.
