Two Virtual Teaching & Research Centers of USST Recognized as Municipal Pilot Projects

Recently, the Virtual Teaching & Research Centers of Mechanical Design and Manufacture constructed by Professor Ding Xiaohong from School of Mechanical Engineering ranked among the first batch of pilot projects of Municipal Virtual centers for construction, while the virtual Teaching & Research Centers of collaborative innovation and enhanced education human resources management in “smart plus” era constructed by Professor Ge Yuhui from Business School ranked among the first batch of pilot projects of virtual centers for cultivation.

Based on national strategy and regional socio-economic development, the virtual center of mechanical design and manufacture strengthens the construction of national first-class undergraduate major and program to positively advance new engineering construction, improve the mechanism of exchange&collaboration and sharing excellent resources among Yangtze River Delta universities，explore new pattern, system and method of university collaboration in engineering education, build an engineering education platform for sharing to provide talents pool for regional economic development.

Taking the moral education as the fundamental task, the virtual center of collaborative innovation and enhanced education human resources management in “smart plus” era focuses on improving the capability of talents cultivation, and transforms knowledge classroom into smart classroom based on the information technology and social demands, and create an education pattern of socially networked human resources so that knowledge and skills take effect in collaborative innovation for value-added virtual classroom and upgraded moral education.
