Yu Hongliu Wins the Honorary Title of the "Most Beautiful Rehabilitation Sci-Tech Worker of the Year" in 2022

On May 30, 2022, CARM(the Chinese Association of Rehabilitation Medicine) announced its list of the “Most Beautiful Rehabilitation Sci-tech Workers of the Year” in 2022, and Professor Yu Hongliu from USST has won the alleged honorary title.

In order to bring the exemplary and motivational role of model workers into full play CARM organized the recommendation and selection of outstanding rehabilitation sci-tech workers according to The Notice on the Organization of the Learning and Publicity Campaign for the “Most Beautiful Sci-tech Workers of the Year in 2022” jointly issued by the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, the China Association for Science and Technology(CAST), the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and the State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense. After a careful study by the CPC Party Committee of CARM, CARM decided to commend 20 “Most Beautiful Sci-tech Workers of the Year in 2022.”

As a sci-tech worker in the field of rehabilitation engineering, Yu has been dedicated to the cultivation of talents in the industry for many years. He has not only set up the first rehabilitation engineering major in China but he has also been working assiduously in the field of scientific research. Over the past three years, he has led his team to undertake more than 40 national and provincial research projects, and reaped 5 provincial awards for sci-tech achievements. As chairman of CARM’s Professional Committee of the Rehabilitation Engineering and Industry Promotion, Yu and the other committee members and their respective working units have pushed the Industry-University-Research-Medicine cooperation and academic exchanges together, organized and held a series of of academic activities such as the China Rehabilitation Robotics Conference(CRR), the Exoskeleton Rehabilitation Robotics Forums, the Chinese Medicine Rehabilitation Equipment Forum, and the Symposium on Advanced Prosthetic Technology and Industry. Besides, as chairman, he organized and held i-CREATe2018 or the 12th International Convention on Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology, the most influential international academic conference on rehabilitation engineering. In addition, he has actively carried out such activities as technical cooperation with industry enterprises and public service science popularization to make technological breakthroughs, facilitating the development of rehabilitation engineering technology, industry and establishments in China.
