USST Won the Champion in China College Students Floorball Tournament

On June 25th, the first China College Students Floorball Tournament came to a close at USST. Altogether 249 tour escorts, coaches and athletes from 12 teams of universities such as Peking University, Harbin Institute of Technology, University of Shanghai for Science and Technology and Chengdu University of Technology took part in the games. The games are hosted by Federation of University Sports of China, Chinese Hockey Association, undertaken by USST, and organized by Federation of University Sports of Shanghai and Shanghai Yangpu District Sports Bureau. This is the first national sports event hosted by our school, and also the first activity to be broadcast live on China Education Television. Yuan Yong, a teacher of USST was invited to be the guest commentator of the live broadcast of the final in Beijing studio, to introduce the development of the games, give comments on the competition and promote the situation of physical education in front of the television.
This tournament involves two participating groups: regular group and high-level group. During the 4-day competition, 12 participating teams competed in a total of 28 matches, bringing a visual feast to the audience with their exquisite skills, skilled cooperation, and tenacious fighting spirit. In the end, USST’s team won the championship of high-level group with only 2 goals lost and 34 goals scored. Yuan Yong and team member Li Guo were also awarded the Best Coach and MVP of the tournament, respectively.
