USST’s Total Points in National Postgraduate Contest in Modelling Rank 1st

From Dec 16th to 17th,the awarding ceremony of the 20th “HUAWEI Cup” National Postgraduate Mathematical Contest in Modelling was held at Southeast University. More than 1000 faculty and students from 500 universities were present at the ceremony. USST won 1 first prize, 56 second prizes, 95 third prizes, with its total points ranking 1st in China.
National Postgraduate Mathematical Contest in Modelling, directed by Chinese Academic Degrees & Graduate Education Development Center (CDGDC), hosted by Youth Science and Technology Center, Chinese Association for Science and Technology, has been one of the main competitions with the highest level, the largest scale and the most influential impacts. The contest is aimed to stimulate the warmth and potential of graduates in scientific research, enhance their capabilities of solution to actual problems with theoretical knowledge.
Concerted efforts are the key to outstanding achievements in the contest. During the contest, school leaders paid high attention, graduate school made overall coordination, College of Science organized the coach team in mathematical modelling. Altogether 1011 teams and 3033 graduates joined in the contest. With solid mathematical knowledge, proficient computer skills, excellent team spirits and higher scientific level, participant members achieved final excellent results, fully demonstrating the practical, and hardworking spirits of USST students. USST will continue to take the disciplinary competition as the major platform, prioritize to explore the cultivation of graduates, reinforce learning, innovation and teaching through competitions, strengthen the cultivation of innovative and applied-oriented talents to promote the high-quality of graduate education.
