Medical-Engineering Innovation Forum Organized between USST and Zhongshan Hospital

On January 18th, the Medical-Engineering Innovation Forum jointly organized by Zhongshan Hospital affiliated with Fudan University USST was held at Zhongshan Hospital.

In her opening speech, Gu Jianying, secretary of Party Committee of Zhongshan Hospital，warmly welcomed the arrival of leaders and experts from Shanghai University of Technology, highly praised the school's contributions to national talent cultivation over the years, and briefly introduced the development and outstanding achievements of Zhongshan Hospital in the field of science and technology innovation. She pointed out that the hospital looks forward to continuing the interdisciplinary cooperation with USST in the field of medical engineering, jointly promoting innovation and transformation of medical devices, and working together to promote the high-quality development of the bio-pharmaceutical industry in Shanghai.

Wang Lingyu，secretary of Party Committee of USST， stressed in his speech the importance of the intersection of medical and industrial sectors in implementing national strategic needs and serving the industrial layout of Shanghai. He pointed out that USST has a solid development foundation in the field of medical devices. Since the signing of a strategic cooperation agreement with Zhongshan Hospital in 2022, the two sides have achieved preliminary results in the docking and cooperation of medical and industrial interdisciplinary projects and joint talent training. He hopes to continually strengthen connections, deepen cooperation, and promote each other, and jointly seek development for human life and health.

The forum showcased the latest achievements of both sides in innovative research and provided valuable opportunities for teachers and doctors to have in-depth exchanges. It is of great significance for promoting in-depth cooperation between our school and Zhongshan Hospital in the medical-engineering innovation and transformation.
