Integrate Innovation and Entrepreneurship into Whole-process, Systematic and Omni-channel Postgraduate Cultivation

On April 13th, University of Shanghai for Science and Technology ushered in a grand event of innovation and practice –Shanghai Initiating Meeting of the China Graduate Innovation and Practice Series Games and the 19th Chinese Postgraduate Electronic Design Contest (Shanghai Division).
As is reported, guided by national strategic needs, and relying on the support from industry companies, the Chinese Postgraduate Innovation and Practice Series Games are committed to encouraging the innovation and practical potential of graduate students through competitions to cultivate cutting-edge talents that meet the needs of national key areas. Among them, the Chinese Postgraduate Electronic Design Contest, as a core of the series games, insists on encouraging innovation and entrepreneurial spirit, and improving the professional quality and practical ability of participants. The competition focuses on the research and development of key technologies, aiming to meet the needs of national economic development, and through the promotion of resource sharing and cooperation among the government, industry, academic research, and practical applications, it provides a platform where graduate students can participate in science and technology and engineering practice.
As an important part of the China Postgraduate Innovation and Practice Competition, Shanghai Division will be closely combined with Shanghai’s industrial characteristics and development direction, especially in key areas such as integrated circuits, biomedicine, and artificial intelligence to encourage and support postgraduates to conduct in-depth exploration and research.
Zhang Hua, vice president of USST, extended a welcome speech at the opening ceremony. He said that USST has always attached great importance to the improvement of postgraduate innovation and entrepreneurship, insisting on promoting learning, enhancing education encouraging innovation through competitions, and incorporating innovation and entrepreneurial education into the whole processes, systems and chains of graduate training. USST has carried out the innovation and entrepreneurship talent training measures such as training camp, and innovative agent. USST was rated by the important contributors (Chinese Postgraduate Innovation and Practice Series Games) in 2023, ranking nationally 23rd and locally 11th among universities.
