Visit to Our School Paid by Zhang Haidi

On August 25th, Ms. Zhang Haidi, former president of the China Disabled Persons' Federation and president of Rehabilitation International, paid a visit to our school. Accompanied by Vice President Zhang Zhong, Liu Baolin, Dean of the Science and Technology Development Research Institute, Yao Xiuwen, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Health Sciences and Engineering, and Professor Yu Hongliu, Dean of the Intelligent Rehabilitation Engineering Research Institute, President Zhu Xinyuan warmly welcomed Zhang Haidi and his delegation.
During the meeting, Zhang Haidi first expressed gratitude for being invited to USST. She pointed out that rehabilitation technology plays an important supporting role in the welfare of people with disabilities, and in the future, more technology should be used to assist people with disabilities. Technology should be combined with philosophy and humanities to develop warmer rehabilitation assistive devices that can reflect human care. USST has achieved remarkable results in the research and development of intelligent rehabilitation equipment and talent cultivation. We hope that USST will continue to make new contributions to the rehabilitation of people with disabilities.
Zhu Xinyuan warmly welcomes Zhang Haidi's visit to our school and admires his achievements in promoting rehabilitation technology services for people with disabilities. He briefly introduced USST and its recent efforts to strengthen medicine and engineering interdisciplinary research, and support the development of rehabilitation engineering disciplines and majors. He put that in the future, the school will further strengthen the intersection of rehabilitation technology and humanities, promote the development of rehabilitation engineering disciplines, and better contribute theoretical strengths to the rehabilitation.
