USST Teams Score Higher Results in CICSIC

From October 12 to 15, jointly hosted by the Ministry of Education and 11 other departments and the Shanghai Municipal People's Government, organized by Shanghai Jiao Tong University and the Minhang District People's Government, the final of China International College Students’Innovation Competition (CICSIC) (2024) was held in Shanghai. After the fierce competition in the national competition online grading, conference evaluation, and gold award competition, our school's six teams that entered the national finals won two gold awards and four silver awards, ranking third among universities in Shanghai. USST scored the best results since the first competition and made new breakthroughs in the number of gold awards and total awards. For the first time, an international project won a silver award in the final. It is reported that 20.836 million students from 153 countries and regions at home and abroad registered to participate in this competition with a total of 5.14 million projects, 5406 universities. Over the past 5 years, 1410 outstanding projects stood out and entered the final stage.

Adhering to the principle of cultivating talents through competitions, USST fully leverages the driving role of competitions, enhances the integration of teaching and practical resources both inside and outside the school, and focuses on cultivating and nurturing top-notch innovative and entrepreneurial talents. USST Promotes innovation through competitions, effectively integrates the innovation and entrepreneurship education with education and teaching, technological transfer, talent gathering, bridges the gap between the education and industry, create a gold award entrepreneurship club, and shapes an ecological system for the coordinated and integrated development of education and technology talents. USST utilizes competition as a medium, to build a collaborative platform for multiple parties to work together and deliver the value of innovation and entrepreneurship education to the blueprint of high-quality development of the school, making greater contributions to the service of industry and local socio-economic development.
