On October 29, Serge Zagdanski, President of Académie Charpentier in Paris, France, and his delegation visited our university. Zhu Xinyuan, President of USST, met with the guests in Conference Room 201 of Yates Hall, accompanied by relevant personnel from the Office of the President, the International Affairs Office and College of Publishing. The meeting was presided over by Xu Lin, Deputy Director of the International Affairs Office.
Zhu Xinyuan, on behalf of USST, expressed his warm welcome to the visit of Académie Charpentier, and introduced USST's history, talent cultivation and discipline development. He pointed out that both Paris and Shanghai are cities with strong artistic atmosphere, and the Académie Charpentier has cultivated many world-class masters in China and France. As an engineering university with profound cultural heritage and excellent academic reputation, USST focuses on the integration of science and technology and art, and actively expands the talents cultivation in the field of humanities and art such as art and design. It is hoped that under the existing cooperation framework, the two sides will utilize their respective advantages to jointly promote cooperation in scientific research, faculty and student exchanges, joint cultivation, etc., and continue to strengthen and deepen the form and content of cooperation to help the partnership between the two universities reach a new level.
Serge Zagdanski expressed his gratitude for the hospitality of our university, introduced the development history, student cultivation and employment of Académie Charpentier, and highly praised USST students who went to Académie Charpentier for study exchange. He said that Académie Charpentier attaches great importance to the cooperation with Chinese universities, and is looking forward to the further development of friendly cooperation with USST, while welcoming the USST teachers and students to visit Académie Charpentier for exchanges and visits.
During the meeting, both sides discussed and exchanged views on dual degree programs, foreign teachers' workshops, teacher and student exchanges, etc. The meeting not only enhanced the friendship between the two universities, but also laid a more solid foundation for future cooperation.
