Hamburg University of Applied Sciences Visits Our School

On November 25, Ute Lohrentz, president of Hamburg University of Applied Sciences, led a delegation to our school. Zhu Xinyuan, president of USST, met the guests at Room 212, Qinye Building. The meeting was presided over by Cai Yonglian, vice president of USST.
On behalf of USST, President Zhu welcomed Lohrentz’s visit. He pointed out that as one of major projects of the friendly cities between Shanghai and Hamburg, the exchange of teachers and students between USST and Hamburg University of Applied Sciences had endured a history of nearly 40 years. Last year, Shanghai Hamburg International School of Engineering marked its 25th anniversary and now both signed a new round of cooperation agreement. In this new stage of cooperation, USST wouldl further strengthen its global development strategy, continued to provide better resources for students from both China and Germany with an open attitude, cultivated students' international perspectives and cross-cultural understanding capabilities, and hoped that the cooperation between the two schools could benefit more students. More teachers and students from Hamburg University of Applied Science were welcome to our school for exchange and research.
President Lohrentz appeared grateful to USST’s welcome. She put that over the last 25 years, USST and Hamburg University of Applied Science had carried out fruitful and effective cooperation based on mutual respect, trust, and common pursuit of high-quality education, cultivating a large number of outstanding students and building a bridge for professional and humanistic communication and exchange between Hamburg and Shanghai. The signing of the new cooperative education agreement not only oriented the sustainable and future development of the partnership between the two parties, but also established a framework for both sides to jointly confront new challenges in the field of higher education. She looked forward to embrace a new stage of cooperation with USST, cultivating more innovative and international students, so that they could tackle future challenges and write a new chapter of successful cooperation between the two sides.
Subsequently, Zhu Xinyuan and Lorentz signed a new round of cooperative education agreement between the two schools under the witness of both China and Germany. Both sides expressed high expectations for further cooperation in the future, and continued to solidify the achievements of cooperative education. Before the signing ceremony, attendees had in-depth discussions on how to improve the quality and sustainable development of Sino-German cooperative education in the new international context, to jointly train more outstanding international applied talents.
