Strategic Agreement Signed between USST and Huayi

On December 31st, USST and Shanghai Huayi Holdings Group Co., Ltd signed a strategic agreement.

Gu Lili, president of Huayi, extended a warm welcome to the arrival of the USST’s delegation. He pointed out that as a large state-owned chemical enterprise in Shanghai, aligned with the strategic needs of the country and Shanghai, Huayi Group has always closely focusing on scarce technologies, key technologies, and core original technologies. With a long history of education, USST has distinct educational characteristics in line with Huayi's industry attributes. He hopes that through this cooperation, both sides can further strengthen the collaborative innovation in production, education, and research, advance the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, and drive regional economic development.
Zhu Xinyuan, president of USST, extended warm thanks to Huayi. He pointed out that USST carries forward the school-running tradition of relying on industry and pooling all the resources of “industry, university and research”. This cooperation means a concrete measure to advance the national innovation-driven development and implement the strategy of Yangtze River Delta integration. He pointed out that USST and Huayi Group have established a deep friendship over the years and carried out collaboration in talent cultivation, scientific research and some other aspects. He hopes that in the coming days, both sides will give full play to their respective advantages, strengthen exchanges and cooperation in scientific research, join their efforts to promote the integration of enterprises and education, and the integration of science and education, strive to explore new inter-disciplinary carriers, continuously expand new platforms for the combination of production and learning, thus making greater contributions to fostering and developing new-quality productive forces.
The agreement says that both sides will further carry out joint research and development through the establishment of joint laboratories and other platforms for industry-university-research cooperation and exchange; they jointly promote technological innovation to empower industrial upgrading and continuously improve the conversion of scientific and technological achievements. Through collaboration in enrollment selection, curriculum development, scientific research training, practice assessment, etc., they jointly promote the joint training of elite engineers. Huayi Group will offer scholarships at USST to reward undergraduate students with excellent academic performance.
