Curtin University Paid A Visit to our School

On the afternoon of June 26th, Harlene Hayne, President of Curtin University, Australia, and her delegation visited University of Shanghai for Science and Technology. President Zhu Xinyuan and Vice Prisident Cai Yonglian met with guests.

Zhu Xinyuan warmly welcomed the visit of the delegation from Curtin University in Australia on behalf of the school, and provided a detailed introduction to the school's development history, disciplinary advantages, international educational features, and the achievements of the MBA program. He pointed out that in recent years, the school has continued to deepen its global strategic layout, focusing on promoting deep cooperation with top overseas universities in areas such as scientific research and innovation, talent cultivation, and cultural exchanges. Australian universities have always been important strategic partners for schools. Against the backdrop of more than 50 years of diplomatic relations between China and Australia, the cooperation in higher education between the two countries has continued to deepen, demonstrating broad development prospects. USST has maintained close cooperation with Curtin University for a long time, and has achieved fruitful results in teacher-student exchanges, joint scientific research, and other aspects. The signing of a joint master's degree training agreement between the two universities marks a new stage of cooperation and will open up new paths for cooperation at a higher level and in a wider range of fields.

Harlan Hain expressed her gratitude for the warm reception of the school and highly praised our school's long history of education and distinctive international characteristics. She stated that Curtin University, as the largest research university on the west coast of Australia, is highly aligned with USST in terms of educational philosophy and development strategy. Since the signing of a memorandum of cooperation and a short-term agreement for international exchange students between the two universities, significant achievements have been made in joint scientific research, teacher-student visits, and other fields. She looks forward to using this visit as an opportunity to further deepen practical cooperation between the two schools in areas such as talent cultivation, technological innovation, and cultural exchange, and jointly contribute to promoting educational and cultural exchanges and technological progress between China and Australia.

Subsequently, under the joint witness of representatives from both China and Australia, Zhu Xinyuan and Harlan Hain signed a joint master's degree training agreement between the two universities. Before the signing ceremony, attendees had in-depth discussions and exchanges on topics such as future cooperation areas, student joint training, and joint scientific research.
