Deepen Strategic Cooperation between Yangpu and USST

On the morning of March 26, the signing ceremony of the Framework Agreement for Deepening Strategic Cooperation between the Yangpu District People's Government and the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology was held. The ceremony was presided over by Liu Deqiang, Vice President of USST.

Xue Kan, on behalf of the district committee and government, expressed heartfelt gratitude to USST for its long-term care and support for Yangpu's economic and social development. He pointed out that Yangpu and USST have grown together, formed a close-knit community of innovation, development, and shared interests. To moving forward, both parties aim to jointly undertake the mission of innovation, promote the transformation and incubation of innovative achievements, foster industrial growth, and collaboratively build a talent hub. They seek to achieve new breakthroughs in integrating technological innovation with industrial innovation, accelerating the overall efficiency of the regional innovation system. By jointly seizing municipal strategic opportunities, they aim to make new progress in transforming the central and northern sections of the riverside area, working together to establish Fuxing Island as a global maker hub and lead the accelerated transformation of the riverside central and northern sections into an innovation ecosystem experimental zone, a leader in future industries, and a pioneer in composite functions. Together, they will fulfill the earnest expectations, focus on delivering education that satisfies the people and strengthen the foundation of public health, exploring new pathways in building a modern, people-centered city. Additionally, they hope to further improve the cooperation and implementation mechanism, deepen party-building collaboration, and enhance cadre training and exchanges, jointly writing a new chapter in district-university collaboration.

To deepen a new round of strategic cooperation between the district and the school, the school will focus on strategic directions such as intelligent manufacturing, biomedicine, and new energy, with the integration of industry and education as the main line, comprehensively deepen the collaborative cooperation with Yangpu, and fully serve the construction of the regional innovative modern industrial system. Concentrate on the creation of "Double First Class" and use the peak of disciplines to drive the construction of regional industrial innovation highlands; Jointly build an innovative zone that integrates science, industry, and education in the surrounding areas, and promote the rapid implementation of the new urban industrial model of "R&D center, regional headquarters, parent factory" through the joint efforts of the district, schools, and enterprises; Promote the efficient transformation of scientific and technological achievements, deepen the integration of industry and education in collaborative education, jointly build a high-level talent gathering highland, and attract high-level talents from around the world to develop in Yangpu; Adhere to open education, create a new model of university in the city, and strive to turn the celebration of 120th anniversary into a grand event showcasing the heritage of a century old university and showcasing the vitality of innovation in Yangpu. We hope that both the district and school will improve cooperation mechanisms, and build a closer development community between the district and school through mutual trust and assistance, creating a demonstration model for the integrated development of school industry and city.

At the meeting, both sides signed a deepening strategic cooperation framework agreement on behalf of both sides.

Before the meeting, attendees also climbed onto the Hujiang podium at USST, gazing at Fuxing Island and engaging in lively discussions on the future prospects of innovative and industrial ecological construction on Fuxing Island.
