On September 29, our school held the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China at the Sports Cultural Center. This was an exciting moment when all lights shone, red flags waved, and was witnessed by more than 32,300 audience members on an online photo platform.
Wu Jianyong, Secretary of Party Committee of USST, extended a warm welcome to those hard-working USST-ers who have contributed a lot to the establishment and development of our school, the prosperity of China, the rejuvenation of China, and he talked something about his feelings from the angles of “looking back on the most uncommon years and months, understanding the soul of the nation”, “remembering original aspiration in teaching, writing the chapters of hard work”, “keeping in mind of original aspiration of education, and energizing the soaring process”. He hoped that each student and teacher at USST can be involved in the construction and development of our country. With the theme of “never forgeting the original aspiration and keeping in mind the mission”, each USST-er kept up the spirit, gathered the strength, worked hard with real practice, to move forward the leapfrog development of a high-level university construction, and devoted their energy and wisdom to great rejuvenation of China and reaching two centenary goals.
The party was divided into three chapters such as “forts and roads are firm”, “world is vicissitude”, and “ride the wind and clean the waves”. The performers were made up of school leaders, retired veteran cadres, alumnus, teachers and students. The party took various artistic forms such as opera, stage play, declaim, dancing and songs and instrument play, reflecting USST-ers’ mission and responsibility of revitalizing the national manufacturing industry, eulogizing the workhorse spirit of creating and maintaining business, told the story of USST sharing the destiny, growth, and the struggles of our country, further it inspired the warmth and love for Communist Party, our country and our school, and celebrated the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. With the wonderful performance, all in the audience, full of excitement, waved the flag, and wore joyous smiles. They sent wishes to our country and demonstrated the original aspiration of chasing and achieving dreams. “In terms of contents and forms, materials and background, the party centers on the melody of the new era for celebrating the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.” In the new era, our country will develop better, and embrace a more thriving and prosperous future,” said Wu Yiwen, Former Deputy President of USST.
At the end of the party, following the songs of Wu Jianyong, Secretary of Party Committee of USST and President Ding Xiaodong, all leaders from USST sang the song of “China Catches My Heart”. All people sent their best wishes to the 70th anniversary of China. The party was full of a festive atmosphere.
