On July 9th, Guo Yongcun, Party Secretary of Amhui University of Science and Technology, President Yuan Liang paid a visit to our school and signed the cooperation agreement with USST.
Wu Jianyong, Secretary of Party Committee of USST, extended warm welcome to Anhui University of Science and Technology. He pointed out that as the first university of science in Anhui, AUST blazed a path for China mining talents and higher education of Anhui. In late years, characterized by its discipline features, with the discipline of new engineering，new medicine, new humanity booming, AUST paced the Safety Science and Engineering and Intelligent Manufacturing. As USST and AUST belong to high-level local universities, they share similar industrial background and the mission to serve great manufacture power, the integrated development of Yangtze River Delta and local socioeconomic development.

Guo Yongcun pointed out that with a long history and deep richness, USST has become a key research-oriented university and a unit for high-level local institution of higher education. It is full of opportunities that two universities cooperate in Occupational Safety and Health, Medical Instrument and Intelligent Manufacture.

USST President Ding Xiaodong pointed out that one of the central purpose of USST’s 14th Five-Year Plan is to hold onto the excellent engineering education, reach a new high point in top 100 universities, take a lead in universities of science and technology. He said that guided by the principle of scientific development, complementary advantages and win-win results, they can create a new strategic cooperation pattern and work together to push ahead the high-level university construction.

During the meeting, on behalf of both sides, Yuan Liang and Ding Xiaodong signed the strategic cooperation agreement. The agreement says that both sides will carry out the cooperation in scientific innovation, disciplinary construction, disciplinary grooming, and resources sharing, mainly in medical-engineering inter-discipline, equipment manufacturing, and artificial intelligence.
