Strategic Cooperation Agreement Signed between USST and SHDC

Guided by the principle of “complementary advantages and mutual development”, the strategic cooperation agreement was signed between USST and Shanghai Shenkang Hospital Development Centre (SHDC). The signing ceremony was presided over by USST President Ding Xiaodong. On behalf of both sides, Liu Ping, Vice President of USST and Liu Mu, Deputy Director of SHDC signed the agreement.

Wang Xingpeng, Secretary of Party Committee, Director of SHDC pointed out that disciplinary crossing and integration has become a part of innovation-driven development, and SHDC and USST have ushered into a critical period of talent cultivation, scientific research and industrial development. Both sides should seize precious historical opportunities to jointly construct medical device innovation platform, and push ahead comprehensive interdisciplinary innovation research and cultivation of compound innovative talents, transferring scientific achievements into rapid completion and providing more high-quality and effective medical services for those patients.

USST President Ding Xiaodong extended a welcome to the delegation led by Wang Xingpeng. He briefed introductions on the historical origin and talent cultivation of medical-engineering development and explorations and contributions focusing on new demands for national medical development in recent years. He pointed out that USST and SHDC shared the common mission and responsibilities to boost the interdisciplinary innovation research, and engaged in the construction of Shanghai Scientific Innovation Centre and “China Health” strategy. He expected that USST and Shanghai Health System can complement each other, speeding up the construction of Shanghai high-level university and promoting the overall development of Shanghai medical system.

Wu Jianyong, Secretary of Party Committee of USST, expressed great thanks for long-standing supports to USST from SHDC. He pointed out that with the similar goals, both sides embraced a brilliant future. USST would continuously follow national strategies and serve industrial demands, bring key disciplinary superiority into full play, to prioritize and strengthen medical-engineering integration innovation. In the meanwhile, with this cooperation as a beginning, USST would implement the “dual circulation” development pattern in which domestic circle plays a leading role while international economic circle remains its extension and stable, complement and share resources with SHDC and Shanghai Health System, making due contributions to promoting national development of Health Business.

Before the signing ceremony, the delegation led by Wang Xingpeng paid a visit to Advanced Manufacture Building, the medical scientific achievements demonstration zone of School at Optical-electrical and Computer Engineering, and other USST research centres and laboratories.
