President Ding Invited to Smart Campus Construction Summit and Addressed Keynote Speech

On October 16th, the Summit Meeting for National Smart Campus Construction, with a theme entitled “Break campus boundaries, explore future universities”, was held in Su Zhou. The meeting adopted the form of both online and offline platforms, and invited almost 700 educational management heads, university leaders, industry customers and more than 2000 viewers online to have a discussion regarding the digital transformation of Chinese universities.

USST President Ding Xiaodong was invited to give a keynote speech at the meeting. Zhao Ming, General Accountant and Deputy Leader of Smart Campus Construction Team and other team members were also present at the meeting and related activities.
In President Ding’s speech, he elaborated on the ideas and measures of USST advancing smart campus construction. He pointed out that the world has undergone profound changes. Higher education should be positive and well-placed to adapt to these changes, to achieve integrated and innovative development of information technology and itself. As a municipal multidisciplinary key university, USST, driven by data and applications, remains sensitive to changes, responding to them with well-judged actions, and is ready to adjust the approach when necessary, to construct an educational information system which is suitable for Shanghai's economic, social and educational development.
The first awarding ceremony was held in a cloud platform. The winners were USST, Suzhou University, Guangdong Institute of Science and Technology, and other units like China Telecom Suzhou Branch. Suzhou Consensus based on cloud services for universities and called on more universities and partners to be involved in cloud services, contributing a lot to the digital transformation of Chinese universities.
During the meeting, a delegation led by Zhao Ming visited Suzhou University, Suzhou Research Institute, and HUAWEI TECHNOLOGIES CO., LTD. They carried out profound talks with leaders and information experts over an smart campus construction. They also visited smart classrooms, the Internet Operating Center, the Internet Data Center and the Cloud Joint Innovation Center.
