USST Strengthens Ties with AHPU

In order to positively respond to An Outline of the Integrated Regional Development of the Yangtze River Delta issued by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, actively serve the national strategy of integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta, promote the regional collaborative innovation of the Yangtze River Delta and strengthen the talent cultivation and discipline construction of local universities, a framework agreement of strategic cooperation was signed between USST and Anhui Polytechnic University (AHPU) on the morning of November 12th. Present at the ceremony were AHPU president Wang Shaowu, vice president Fei Weiyin, Zhou Xiaohong, a member of standing committee of AHPU, USST president Ding Xiaodong, and Vice president Liu Ping.

President Ding Xiaodong presided over this signing ceremony. On behalf of both sides, vice president Liu Ping and AHPU vice president Fei Weiyin signed the cooperation agreement. Heads of personnel department of two universities signed the agreement on joint cultivation of postdoctoral researchers. Afterwards they had discussions over the characteristic practice in the discipline construction, scientific research and talent cultivation. They also reached a consensus in some scientific platforms constructed by two universities in the future.

AHPU president Wang Zhaowu expressed gratitude to USST for its long-term care and supports. He gave a brief introduction on running-school history, talent cultivation, international exchange, and school-enterprise collaboration. He also pointed out that Wuhu City has established profound industrial foundation in vehicle manufacture, robotic design, 3D printing. He hoped that both universities could carry out cooperation in more areas depending on their local industrial advantages.

AHPU president Wang Shaowu expressed gratitude to USST

Ding Xiaodong extended a welcome to the delegation led by Wang Shaowu. He pointed out that two universities should make full use of the underlying role of higher engineering education in the integrated development of Yangtze River Delta. Taking “sincere cooperation, mutual benefits and win-win result” as the principle, they should construct a long-term mechanism of cooperation, innovation and common development to target local leading industry and advance cooperation in talent cultivation, scientific research, international exchange and other aspects, contributing to the high-level construction of two universities.

After the signing ceremony, the delegation led by Wang Shaowu paid a visit to the first floor of Advanced Manufacturing building in which high-end medical equipment stands. Besides, they also went to the research institute of machinery intelligence and the research center of rehabilitation engineering and technology.
