Recently, International Society of Infrared, Millimeter and Terahertz Waves (IRMMW-THz), announced the new International organization committee (IOC) members. Two co-Chairs and twenty-seven members were elected with a six-year term. Professor Zhu Yiming from School of Optical-Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Shanghai for Science and Technology (USST), was one of the two Chinese elected as members.
IOC of IRMMW-THz takes members from its member associations, comprising distinguished scientists and technologists, including professors from famous universities like Cambridge University, University of Rochester and Brown University. At the committee, Prof. Zhu Yiming is mainly responsible for the cooperation among IRMMW-THz member associations and also the evaluation and election of Youth Scientist Award.
Established in 1974, IRMMM-THz focuses on the development of infrared, millimeter and terahertz waves, and has become the largest international non-profit organization with the longest history. It aims to promote worldwide collection, communication and exchange in scientific technology and knowledge related with infrared, millimeter and terahertz waves. Its concerns range from ultra-frequency electronic application, millimeter waves instrument, component and system to far-infrared detection and instrument, including micro/nano-structure, large accelerator, Tokamak and its application.
