USST Delegation Led by Secretary Wu Visits Xinjiang

In order to actively respond to the Great Western Development Strategy, implement the spirit of the conference on pairing assistance program to Xinjiang, our school is actively engaged in Shanghai's aid work in Xinjiang, and deepen the all-round and multi-field cooperation between the school and Karamay& Kashgar. From July 25 to 30, Wu Jianyong, Secretary of the Party Committee of USST, led the team to investigate the industrial parks and cooperative schools in Karamay and Kashgar to learn about the progress of cooperative projects and have discussion about the next cooperation. They also visited local families of minority students and learned about their educational backgrounds. Meanwhile, they conducted the investigation and docked for the better jobs in terms of aiding Xinjiang by science and technology, by talents during and other assistances during the period of the 14th Five-Year Plan.

Aiding Xinjiang by science and technology is the essence of cooperation between our school and Karamay. Wu and his delegation visited Karamay Cloud Computing Industrial Park and Huawei Cloud Technology Center, and attended the signing ceremony of the Industry-University-Research Cooperation agreement between our school and this Park.

During the talk with relevant leaders in Karamay, the two sides, guided by the principles of “resource sharing, integration of production and school, demand orientation and collaborative innovation”, give top priority to more profound and more practical scientific aid for Xinjiang, construction of the mechanism of pairing assistance program to Xinjiang by delivering talents and establishing wider scope of cooperation so as to become a model in Shanghai.
