Several Achievements of USST Honored with Awards for Science and Technology in Shanghai

On December 1st, the conference on 2020 Shanghai Science and Technology Award was held in order to award those science and technology workers who contribute to Shanghai scientific and technological development and modernization construction. During the meeting, Li Qiang, Party Secretary of Shanghai Municipal Committee stressed to fully implement the spirit of important speech of General Secretary Xi, give priority to sci-tech innovation, hold fast to the guiding principle of“Four Oriented”, closely circle around creational and original sci-tech innovation, endeavor to make breakthrough in original science and technology tackling, unveil new atmosphere of empowering high-quality economic development, see new effects in strengthening strategic science power, and take the construction of science and technology innovation center with global influence to a new level. Zhuang Songlin, Academician of Chinese Academy and Dean of OECE was present at the conference as a Shanghai Science and Technology Committee (STCSM) member.

At the conference, led by USST, the project won 1 award for outstanding science and technology contributions of young scientists, 2 awards for the first prize, 4 awards for the second prize, 1 award for the third prize. And the project involving USSTers won 1 award for the third prize.

Joining in the rank of the high-level university, USST sticks to“3151”overall development path, namely, 3 international laboratories, 1 characteristic platform, 5 first-class disciplines and 1 high-level discipline, solidifies the strategy of improving key competitiveness, to target the global sci-tech frontiers, serve the main economic battlefields, strive to fulfill the significant needs of the country, and benefit people’s lives and health, actively serving the construction of Shanghai Science and Technology Innovation Center. USST carries out organized science and technology tackling, scored a series of original achievements of basic research and applied basic research, take the responsibility of manufacture power with USST science and technology.
