Held in the National Convention and Exhibition Center (Shanghai) from November 5 to 10, the fifth China International Import Expo(CIIE) has welcomed 3591 youth volunteers. Among them were 73 “green leaves” representing USST, who have showed an image of capable, responsible and talented youth, with their service completed outstandingly.
On November 9, USST President Ding Xiaodong, Secretary of USST Party Committee, Wu Jianyong and USST Vice President, Sheng Chun sent their greetings to the school “green leaves” through a video call.
In the call, President Ding paid his compliment, expecting that during volunteering, the “green leaves” would learn and implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress, understand the meaning of “adhere to opening up at a higher level”, and make individual contributions to China’s development, through which they would present vitality at their best time of striving. Party Secretary Wu also expressed his care and hoped that “green leaves” would set a good example of USST youths on the international stage, to win honor for not only the school, but the Expo and the country; experience the great changes about to take place over the next decade, and remain committed to the original aspiration and mission with their individual efforts; take service in CIIE as education on the hard-working spirit, promoting personal growth through serving others; stick to regulations on epidemic prevention and control, bear in mind personal protection, and then return to the school, safe and sound, with mission completed.
The Expo is coming to an end, but USST “green leaves” has not showed the slightest sign of slacking. They will strengthen their faith and hone skills on this open stage, where with their excellent service, they will prove the oath of “Please count on me, on the way to a stronger country”, and display to the world the excellence of the USST-ers.
