Cultivate Driving Forces for Development, Highlight USST’s High-quality Development

On Dec 9th, 2023 USST Spring Theory-discussing meeting was held at the meeting room of the library. Centered on the theme “cultivate driving forces for development, highlight USST’s high-quality development”, the meeting summarized the recent work effects, gave insight into the current situation, and studied and mapped out 2023 assignments, to promote the high-quality development of the school.
During the period of special reporst, circling around the themes of open and sharing system of large-scale instruments and equipments, Riverside-USST health industrial park construction, USST’s science and arts integration development, survey on the collegiate system of universities of science and technology, building creative brand of labor education through simultaneous development of five educations, constructing national civilized campus, the speaker addressed speeches. Zhang Hua gave a written report on the institutional construction of talents cultivation among the Yangtze River Delta Universities Alliance.

President Ding Xiaodong delivered a speech. At the new development stage, the school should fully study and implement the spirit of 20th National Congress of CPC and unswervingly put USST’s high-quality development first. He emphasized that firstly, summarize and grasp how USST could achieve high-quality development: foster morality through education, build integrated development pattern of education, scientific research and talents, adhere to the teacher-student-oriented development theory, open and make innovations, coordinate relations between development and security. Secondly, find out the difficulties and challenges posed to USST’s high-quality development; tackle the problems like lack of spatial and human resources and weak capabilities of occupying the commanding points. Thirdly, continuously move forward USST’s high-quality development through reforms and innovations; empower intelligent campus construction through artificial intelligence, strengthen foreign exchange and cooperation, striving to break through in national-level platforms and scientific research awards.

Wu Jianyong, Party Secretary of USST Committee pointed out that the meeting is aimed to fully study and implement the spirit of 20th National Congress of CPC, take the chances Chinese path to modernization, drive USST’s higher quality development. He stressed that firstly, bear in mind the national top priorities, base itself in new development paradigm and polymerize school’s features to enhance USST’s capabilities of serving the national major strategy. Secondly, stick to the fundamental task of fostering morality through education, construct and refine talents cultivation system of simultaneous development of five educations. Thirdly, take constant steps to advance the governance system and capability, motivate the comprehensive reform, strengthen the well-targeted institutional supply, and stimulate running-school vigor.
