On May 9th, Xue Yusheng, Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering and Honorary Dean of China Electric Power Research Institute was appointed as distinguished professor of USST.
Gu Chunhua, deputy secretary of Party Committee of USST introduced something about Academician Xue to guests present. He pointed out that Xue is an expert in stability theory and power system automation, honorary dean of China Electric Power Research Institute, and founding-editor of Power System Automation and Journal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy. He pioneers the quantitative theory of stability for time-varying non-linear motion systems. The invention of EEAC theory and algorithm overcomes the problem of quantitative analysis of transient stability in power systems that has not been long solved worldwide, making itself only theoretically proved in engineering . He researches and develops the WARMAP that is peculiar to China and leads the world, successfully put to use in power grids of over 90 percent of provinces. He proposed the framework for Cyber Physical Social System Energy and the overall solution to active support of energy transformation by electricity, providing theoretical guidance and decision-making support for the clean transformation of countries, regions, and energy enterprises.
Om behalf of USST, USST President Ding Xiaodong presented the certificate to Academician Xue. He extended sincere thanks to the appointment. With a long history, USST is characterized by its disciplinary features. He feels it honored to shoulder the great responsibility and try himself out to advancing the development of USST. He hopes to together aim at the disciplinary frontier and make results, contributing a lot to the scientific research and talents cultivation of USST.
