The Strategic Brain Trust of Oriental Panvascular Instrument Innovation School of USST Established

On June 14th, the appointment ceremony of the first group of experts and strategy seminar was held at USST. The professionals and researchers from schools, corporations, hospitals, enterprises, and financial organs gather at USST, had discussions over strategic layout, and development plan of the school, in hopes of cultivating more crossover innovative talents for national and Shanghai’s health and medical services, transforming more innovative fruits into actual products in medical technological field based on the industry-education-research full-chain development pattern.
As an independent secondary college, the Oriental Panvascular Instrument Innovation School of USST was established by USST, the team led by Academician Ge Junbo, Zhongshan Hospital and the team led by Prof. Liu Jianmin, Changhai Hospital at the end of 2022. After six-month construction, USST built the strategic advisory committee, academic and degree committee. Academician Gu Xiaosong from Jiangsu Key Laboratory of Neuroregeneration, Prof. Wang Yingjun from South China University of Technology, and director of National Engineering Research Center for Tissue Restoration and Reconstruction, Academician Fang Jiancheng from Beihang University, Academician Zhu Meifang from school of Materials Science and Engineering, Donghua University would serve as members of strategic brain trust, joining efforts to advance high-standard construction and high-quality development of the school.
In the meantime, the Oriental Panvascular Instrument Innovation School of USST began its independent enrollment in 2023. In June, the application for master’s degree in biomedical engineering with the same level of academic qualifications, in October, the application for 2024 master’s degree in MBA (medical-engineering inter-discipline), MBA (the presidential class of medical-engineering inter-discipline), biomedical engineering, electronic-information, from December of this year to March of the next one, the application for doctoral degree through performance assessment have been all launched, to create a comprehensive "special zone" for graduate education reform, and cultivate high-level innovative talents in panvascular instrument and treatment technology.
