Sun Led A Delegation to Many Prestigious Universities and Research Institutions in the UK and France

In order to promote USST's international cooperation, expand the platform of oversea exchange and cooperation, and strengthen the recruitment of overseas high-level talents, Sun Yuedong, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of USST, led a delegation to the United Kingdom and France to carry out in-depth exchanges with local prestigious universities and scientific research institutions.
During the visit to the UK, USST delegation visited Queen Mary University of London, University of Oxford, Liverpool John Moore University and other universities.
At Queen Mary University of London, Sun Yuedong and his delegation visited the laboratories and conducted academic exchanges with researchers of the university. Prof. Yi Sui, Dean of Research of the Faculty of Engineering, warmly welcomed our delegation and conducted in-depth exchanges on the scientific research cooperation and high-level talent cultivation of the faculty members of both sides in the field of mechanical disciplines and will jointly promote the signing of the agreement on inter-university cooperation. Director of the Human Resource Department of USST also made a special speech on the recruitment policy for overseas high-level talents who are interested in applying for teaching positions in USST, and visited some USST teachers and students who are visiting the university.

At the University of Oxford, the delegation had in-depth exchanges with Dr. Shidong Wang, Director of Oxford Institute for Global Development and Prospective Studies (OIGDPS), Mr. Russell White, Associate Director of Operations, and other related personnel, and both sides reached a positive consensus on the development of short-term exchange programs for students, and signed an agreement on the cooperation between the two universities.

At Liverpool John Moores University, the delegation met with Prof. Nduka Ekere, Vice Chancellor of Liverpool John Moores University, Ms. Julia Wang, Director of the Office of International Affairs, and relevant professors of the School of Engineering. The two sides had in-depth exchanges and reached a consensus on research cooperation and the development of dual-degree programs. Before the meeting, the delegation, led by Prof. Xun Chen, visited the teaching and research laboratories of the university and exchanged views with the researchers of the university in the academic field. After the meeting, the delegation also visited the USST postgraduate students who are studying at Liverpool.

During the stay in France, the delegation visited Institut Charpentier in Paris and Institut National d'Ingénieurs de Metz.
At Académie Charpentier, Mr. Serge Zagdanski, the president of the university, and Sun Yuedong signed an agreement on the cooperation project between the two universities, in which both parties hope to maintain friendly relations and active exchanges in the field of higher education, and carry out in-depth cooperation in the fields of two-way student exchanges, joint dual-degrees cultivation, scientific research and teaching cooperation, and so on.

At ENI Metz: Ecole nationale d'ingénieurs de Metz, Mr. Theirry, Director of International Affairs Office and Mr. Moinard, Dean of Sino-French School of Engineers warmly received our delegation and discussed the boost of inter-university exchanges and cooperation in the fields of student exchanges and academic research. Both sides expressed their hope that on the basis of the existing cooperation, they would continue to carry out various forms of multidisciplinary student cultivation, and constantly promote the academic exchanges between young people of the two countries and enhance the humanistic exchanges.

This visit promoted the international exchanges and cooperation between USST and the high-level universities in Britain and France, and achieved the expected goal. Relevant departments of USST will effectively implement the signed international exchange and cooperation agreements to help USST to construct a high-level university.
