Delegation led by President Ding Visits Yangtze River Delta NIC

On Dec 26th, the USST delegation led by President Ding Xiaodong went to Yangtze River Delta National Innovation Center for exchange and investigation.
At the exchange meeting, Liu Qing, Director of the Yangtze River Delta National Technology Innovation Center (referred to as "National Innovation Center"), introduced the construction background, functional positioning, and construction goals of the National Innovation Center in his welcome speech. He pointed out that USST, as a key university under the Shanghai Municipal Government, has multiple advantageous disciplines in science and engineering. In the future, the two sides will complement each other's advantages in the integration of industry and education, talent cultivation, scientific and technological innovation, and industrial transformation, and carry out more in-depth cooperation. At the meeting, both sides jointly reported "Elite Engineer" talent training promotion plan jointly carried out by the National Innovation Center and the school since the establishment of Elite Engineering School, and exchanged and discussed the key work in the next stage. At the same time, both sides also held heated discussions on the establishment of the "Elite Engineer Joint College" of the Yangtze River Delta Higher Engineering Education Alliance, the conceptual verification of medical and engineering interdiscipline, and the CO-OP engineering alternation.
President Ding Xiaodong pointed out that USST, as a joint unit of the National Elite Engineer Innovation Research Institute, and the National Innovation Center, and a dual chair unit of the school's Excellent Engineer Institute, carried out the close and strong cooperation. Based on common needs and cooperation potential, both look forward to the future, focusing on the three key areas of integrated circuits, biomedicine, and artificial intelligence, to achieve win-win cooperation and mutual benefits, and jointly promote high-quality development in Shanghai and the Yangtze River Delta region.
