USST and Kashgar University Sign A Cooperation and Exchange Framework Agreement

On the afternoon of March 25th, USST and Kashgar University held a signing ceremony for a cooperation and exchange framework agreement, and the two sides held talks and exchanges on further strengthening cooperation.
Sheng Chun, Vice President of USST, extended a hearty welcome to the visit of Luo Haobo and his party, expressed thanks to Kashgar University for its care and concern for the administrative personnel and talents dispatched by USST, introduced the situation of USST, and reviewed the positive progress of the two universities in recent years in promoting cooperation in talent cultivation, discipline construction, and administrative personnel exchange. He stated that providing targeted support to Kashgar is a glorious political task entrusted to Shanghai by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. USST will deeply study and implement the spirit of the important speeches, reinforce cooperation in the promotion of the sharing of educational resources, and strengthen concerted efforts in the implementation of the major national strategies, striving to make its due contribution to supporting the high-quality development of higher education in southern Xinjiang.
Luo Haobo, Vice President of Kashgar University, expressed thanks to USST for its concern and support for the development of Kashgar University. He introduced the historical developments, current development status, and planning of Kashgar University. He stated that institutions of higher education in Shanghai, represented by USST, have firmly implemented the mission and tasks entrusted by the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core, especially taking targeted assistance to Xinjiang as an important political responsibility, promoting the close combination of Shanghai's comprehensive advantages with the resource endowment of Kashgar University, and making positive contributions to improving the quality of Kashgar University’s education. It is hoped that the two universities can deepen exchanges, cooperation, and strategic docking on the new journey, fully and accurately implement the Party's Xinjiang governance strategy in the New Era, and promote the high-quality development of targeted assistance to Xinjiang.
At the meeting, relevant departments of the two universities communicated and exchanged ideas on the management of educational funds, joint training for graduate students, subject construction, and teacher-student exchanges.
After the meeting, Sheng Chun and Luo Haobo respectively signed a cooperation and exchange framework agreement on behalf of both sides. According to the agreement, both parties will leverage their respective strengths to engage in in-depth cooperation in disciplinary and professional development, faculty building, research capacity building, and teacher-student exchanges, and jointly draw a new blueprint for win-win cooperation.
Before the signing ceremony, Luo Haobo and his party visited the Shanghai High-end Medical Equipment Innovation Center, Intelligent Manufacturing Experimental Center, and the Hujiang International Cultural Park.
