On October 16, leaders of Yangpu District paid a visit to USST and had talks with the school in deepening cooperation in science technological innovation, industrial development and people’s prospects of a better life.
Coupled with the development needs of Yangpu, USST adheres to the vision of local interaction and integration, more actively involves in the regional development plan of building an "innovative ecological experimental field, future industry breeding ground, and multi-functional pilot zone" in North Riverside, further optimizes the spatial layout, promoting the functional recovering, transformation and upgrading of the university science and technology park, strengthening cooperation with leading enterprises and universities in Yangpu District, taping fully into resources through coordination and interconnection to nurture the North Riverside science and technology innovation hub and cultural landmark, and to build an innovation ecology with open education and industry-city integration.
Yangpu District hopes that the district and school can work together to advance technological innovation and create the Yangpu Science and Technology Innovation Belt. Taking the deepening of the reform of the university science and technology park as an opportunity, Yangpu will further improve the operation and management mechanism, optimize the distribution of innovation resources in universities, enhance the "first stop" function of entrepreneurship incubation, and promote the industrialization and transfer of more scientific research achievements in the park. Yangpu and USST can build a people-centered city and continuously enhance people's well-being, fully leverage their respective advantages to advance the opening up of the central and northern sections of riverside, take solid steps to advance the coordinated development of medical education and research, deepen the construction of national high-quality and balanced development zones for compulsory education, and jointly create the best practice area conforming to the concept of people-centered city.
