From October 27 to 31, Sun Yuedong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of USST, led a delegation to visit Edith Cowan University, University of New South Wales and University of Wollongong, accompanied by relevant personnel from the Institute of Science and Technology Development, College of Publishing and International Affairs Office. During the visit, the delegation successfully signed an inter-university agreement, student exchange and overseas exchange study agreement with Edith Cowan University, signed a memorandum of Understanding with the University of Wollongong, and visited and sympathized with the faculty and students who were visiting or studying in the University of New South Wales.

On October 28, the delegation visited Edith Cowan University and was warmly received by Jake Garman, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Edith Cowan University, who reviewed the cooperation and exchanges between the two universities in the field of humanities and arts since 2008, and warmly invited USST to participate in the inauguration ceremony of the new campus in 2025. Sun Yuedong thanked Vice President Jake Garman for his warm reception and invitation, and introduced the history and international exchanges activities of USST, hoping to further deepen the cooperation with Edith Cowan University. Subsequently, the two sides had an in-depth discussion on humanities and arts education, student cultivation, and mutual visits of teachers and students, and jointly signed an inter-university agreement and an agreement on student exchange and overseas exchange study. Mark McMahon, Director of International Strategy of the School of Arts and Humanities, Marija Petrovska, Manager of Global Business Development and Governance, and relevant staff from the Office of Internationalization attended the agreement signing ceremony. During the trip, USST delegation also visited Edith Cowan University's library and the Center for Student Learning and Creative Activities.
Delegation Visited University of New South Wales (UNSW) and Sympathized with Visiting Scholars and International Students
On the afternoon of October 29, our delegation visited the University of New South Wales (UNSW) and had a cordial exchange with USST visiting teachers and international students there. Accompanied by those visiting teachers and USST alumni, the delegation visited the library, faculty studios and laboratories of the University of New South Wales. During the exchange, Sun Yuedong fully affirmed the hard work and fruitful achievements of the visiting teachers and alumni, and encouraged them to play the role of a bridge connecting education and scientific research cooperation between domestic and foreign universities, to further promote the internationalization of USST's scientific research and talent cultivation in the process of upgrading their own level, and encouraged the alumni to study hard, return to their home countries after their studies, and contribute to the construction of the motherland.
Delegation Visited University of Wollongong and Signed Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation between the Two Universities
On October 30, the delegation visited the University of Wollongon. On behalf of the University of Wollongong, Sue Bennett, Interim Deputy-Vice Chancellor, extended a warm welcome to the delegation. She introduced the development history, student cultivation and the scientific research of the University of Wollongong, as well as the origin of cooperation between the two universities in sustainable clean energy, and hoped that under the framework of the existing cooperation, by taking respective advantages, to further promote the joint cultivation of students, scientific research and other aspects of cooperation between the two universities, and help the two universities to reach a new level of cooperation. Sun Yuedong expressed his gratitude to the warm reception from the University of Wollongong. He introduced the discipline development, scientific research and student cultivation in the field of engineering, and said that two academicians, Dou Shixue and Liu Huaji, former professors of the University of Wollongong, led part of the energy materials research team to join USST to deepen the cooperation between the two universities. Meanwhile, USST has always attached great importance to the cooperation with the University of Wollongong, and is looking forward to further deepening the friendly cooperative relationship with the University of Wollongong to enhance mutual trust and achieve a win-win situation, while welcoming the faculty and students of the University of Wollongong to visit USST for exchanges. Afterwards, both sides signed a memorandum of understanding.

After the meeting, the delegation visited the Australian Institute for Innovative Materials (AIIM) accompanied by Prof. Xiaolin Wang, Director of the Institute for Superconductivity and Electronic Materials of the University of Wollongong, Prof. Cheng Zhengxiang and Prof. Jun Chen, Deputy Director of the Intelligent Polymer Research Institute. During the visit and exchange, the two sides carried out in-depth communication on the joint cultivation of postgraduate students, the construction of international joint laboratories and the implementation of talent projects, and preliminary agreement was reached on the content of projects for further cooperation.
The visit to Edith Cowan University and the University of Wollongong and the signing of the cooperation agreements received a friendly response and positive feedback from the Australian partner institutions, which deepened the cooperative relationship between USST and Edith Cowan University and the University of Wollongong, strengthened the faculty and student exchanges and academic exchanges with the University of New South Wales. It also laid a solid foundation for future cooperation and further promoted the internationalization cooperation of talent cultivation and scientific research of USST.
