Cooperation Agreement Signed between the School of Medical Instrument and Food Engineering and the MicroPort Orthopedics Co., Ltd.

On January 21, Huang Hui, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Medical Instrument and Food Engineering, Liu Baolin, Dean of the College, and heads of some majors were invited to visit the Suzhou Park of the company and sign the Cooperation Agreement on “Excellent Engineering Educationalong with the three subsidiaries of the company. The group was warmly received by Weng Zixin, President of the MicroPort China Co., Ltd.

The signing ceremony was presided over by Yang Jie, Manager of Strategic Projects of the MicroPort Orthopedics Group. Present at the ceremony were Meng Hong, Deputy Secretary of CPC Working Committee and Deputy Director of the Management Committee of the High-end Manufacturing and International Trade Zone of Suzhou Industrial Park, Ge Liang, General Manager of Strategies of the MicroPort Orthopedics, Zhuang Zi, a human resources manager, and relevant heads of the three subsidiaries attended the event. At the ceremony, Mr. Weng Zixin first delivered a welcoming speech on behalf of the MicroPort Group. He introduced the history and development of the MicroPort Orthopedics Group. Meng Hong warmly congratulated the signing of the agreement and said that he would strive to create the best conditions, services and environment for the cooperation between the two sides.

Liu Baolin introduced the development of the School of Medical Instrument Food Engineering and the cooperation with the MicroPort Orthopedics was also covered. He pointed out that the signing of the agreement represented a new stage of school-enterprise cooperation, which would further strengthen and promote the complementary development of the two sides and enhance the training of outstanding talents in the medical device industry.            

Witnesses were the leaders present, Liu Baolin and Weng Zixin who signed the Cooperation Agreement and unveiled the plaques of the three subsidiaries as the practice-base of USST students. The two sides then carried out detailed exchanges of views on such topics as scientific research projects, student internships, and continuing education for professionals.
