On October 25, the Yangtze River Delta University Technology Park Alliance led by five universities in the Yangtze River Delta Higher Engineering Education Alliance was established at USST.
Ding Xiaodong of USST pointed out the warm welcome that as a super megalopolis in the Yangtze River Delta, Shanghai plays a leading role that puts an emphasis on scientific and technological innovations, and transforms scientific and technological achievements into the first and most productive force that drives industrial development, which is an issue that needs to be addressed regarding scientific innovation. Starting with the establishment of the Yangtze River Delta, five universities in the alliance would become an important force for upgrading industrial technology in the Yangtze River Delta through opening up and focusing on collaboration. He noted that as the backdrop of the national strategy for the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta, USST would tap into its potential and make more contributions. He hoped that all universities would promote more profound and pragmatic collaboration, cultivate more outstanding talent and make more scientific and technological achievements to make contributions to leading and pushing for economic and social development for the Yangtze River Delta.
Afterwards, the representatives of five universities signed the Framework Agreement for Science and Technology Park Alliance of the Yangtze River Delta University of Higher Engineering Education. The alliance will proactively move forward the collaboration in the Scientific and Technological Park, establish achievements and transformation in an incubator, jointly carry out the training of high-level talent, build a team of technical managers, explore the path of opening up the transformation of scientific and technological achievements and foster the innovation of its mechanisms and systems, and carry out social service cooperation focusing on scientific and technological output.
Xu Kaiyu, Director of the Scientific and Technological Department of Shanghai Municipal Development Commission, delivered a speech. She hoped that relying on the alliances of the five universities, the Science and Technology Park Alliance would create a communicative platform of joint innovation, move forward entrepreneurship and innovative education, carry out high-level talent cultivation, promote high-quality development of the Science and Technology Park, and expand an international collaborative channel to provide a powerful support system that contains valuable experiences for a more high-quality integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta.
Lv Juntao, Deputy Director of the Integrated Development Division of the Yangtze River Delta and the Shanghai Municipal Development & Reform Commission gave an introduction about the national strategy of integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta and outlined the background to the establishment of a collaborative office in the Yangtze River Delta. Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui and Shanghai will make the Yangtze River Delta develop into a more active and positive growth pole. He hoped that all universities in the Yangtze River Delta Alliance will demonstrate their strength and actively be involved in the national strategy to promote the overall strength and competitiveness of the Yangtze River Delta and devote their wisdom and power to the development of the Yangtze River Delta and China as a whole.
Afterwards, at separate lectures of advancing seminars for the Yangtze River Delta were given, guests presenting at the seminar carried out a deep debate mainly about innovation breakthroughs in scientific and technological and achievement transformation, undergraduate education, the establishment of a technological transfer manager sharing team, and also collaborative innovation centering on advanced technology. All people will push for the profound development of the alliance’s work in mutual credit recognition, collaborative cultivation of undergraduate talents, transformation of scientific and technological achievements, and collaborative innovation of scientific and technology.
