In recent days, the 6th National University Student Art Performance Exhibition，hosted by the Ministry of Education and Sichuan Municipal Government, was inaugurated at music hall of Chengdu City. The original music drama Spring’s Coming Back won the highest prize and outstanding Creation Award. This is the first time that USST has entered in the National University Student Art Exhibition and achieved a breakthrough with remarkable achievements.
The cast of Spring’s Coming back was made up of undergraduates and graduates from School of Communication and Art Design, Business School, School of Medical Instrument and Food Engineering，School of Optical-electrical and Computer Engineering, Basic School. They joined together out of their appetite for the musical drama,. In the preparation for the exhibition, faculty and students put all efforts into one-year strenuous rehearsal. They integrated the responsibility of passing on folk music into the love for musical drama, and told a moving patriotic story thorough a soul-knocked play, winning the honor for the school and Shanghai, encouraging more people to perceive, feel, and spread folk music. When the exhibition finished, Chen Kehong, director of Shanghai Art Direction Commission and deputy director Li Ruiyang extended warm consolation to faculty and students in the play.
During the exhibition, Sheng Chun, Deputy Secretary of Party Committee, Vice President of USST, led the delegation to Chengdu University of Information Technology. During their talks, both sides had talks and discussion over the experience and measure in employment, humanity education, international exchange, and furthered the collaboration and exchange between two schools.
Before exhibition in Chengdu on May 6th, Wu Jianyong, Secretary of Party Committee of USST, and USST President Ding Xiaodong sent their supports and encouragement to faculty and students, inspiring them to take part in the competition with a light pack and end with great achievements.
