Recently, USST was granted 90 NSFC projects, an increase by 20% compared with the same period of the previous year, which was an all-time high. USST teachers introduced over the past three years were granted 54, accounting for 60% of the total number.
The leaders of the university have been attaching great importance to the application and management of NNSFC projects, especially pointing out that “work for NSFC and NSSFC are the core work of USST’s scientific research and the cornerstone of USST’s capability to strengthen basic scientific research and enhance innovation”and called for teachers to carry out frontier basic research and interdisciplinary innovative research combined with “Four Oriented”strategy towards scientific innovation.
The all-time high number of NSFC projects fully demonstrates the effectiveness of the construction of a high-level local institution of higher education, inspiring the whole school to continuously struggle for the scientific innovation.
